Report on the luncheon seminar “Nature-based Art Therapy & Nursing” hosted by the International Exchange Group
On October 11, 2024, we welcomed Dr. Zoe Moula of King’s College London to our luncheon seminar. Dr.Zoe Moula is Lecturer in Mental Health, Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, and Midwifery & Palliative Care. Dr. Zoe Moula gave a presentation titled “Nature connection through the arts: Examples from research and practice in the UK,” introducing examples of practice and research in the UK on connecting with nature through the arts.
Here are some of the comments from the participants.
・I was able to understand that art has a positive effect on health by actually thinking for myself through the multiple activities in the lecture.
・I was sent the lecture slides in advance, so I was able to participate in the lecture in English, which was a bit difficult for me.
・It was good to hear about other countries from a broader perspective and to be able to interact directly with a wonderful professor.
Dr. Zoe Moula interacted with the participants as she gave her lecture, allowing them to reflect on their own experiences and providing a valuable international exchange opportunity for faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students to learn about the connection between nature and the mind.
